About the event
The live play “Roses for Santa Rita” April 18-28 at the Railway Museum of San Angelo brings back the oil boom in West Texas. There’ll be a hot time in the old town as San Angelo in the roaring ‘20s comes to life. The future was rosy when a gusher of black gold burst from the Santa Rita oil well in 1923. Flappers, dreamers, opportunists, and oil field folks jumped on trains to San Angelo to explore this fantastic find.
